Hi,

I'm rebuilding my Carter carb for my '49. I notices that one of the return springs is bad (end rusted off) does anyone have a source for a replacement? Daytona carbs doesn't include springs in the carb kit. ...as I think that no rebuild kits do. Is my only option a junk carb?

What kind of spring? If no other luck, Reid supplyreidsupply.com/products/tooling-components/springs/ sells individual springs of several different types & no minimum order. If it's a non critical spec and you can get an approximate diameter, wire size, etc etc, possibly something in the cut length to size or even a prefixed length could be found that would work.

Look up the Packard part number in the parts book on this site. Post the number you need and I'll bet someone will chime in and have one. No sense in cobbling things up without at least trying to find a new original part.
