Roger that would be swell. The gas tank would allow us to roll, and I'm sure we'll get a more complete needs picture as we cobble her together. A couple of years back I believe you mentioned a radiator? If available, may well be in much better condition than ours. Let us know how to proceed - and thanks again.

We're hoping to get this 49 rolling by tomorrow (Saturday), Oct. 13. The gang is hard at work. Brakes.... check. Transmission.... check. Engine.... check. Still need a gas tank.

Tuesday we take delivery of a 49, formerly owned by another Ohioan: Johnny Singer. Johnny Singer was the "Dean of the Big Bands" in Cleveland, Ohio as well as Eric Singer's dad. KISS drummer Eric played in his father's band in his younger years. Johnny Singer purchased the car new and drove it up until about 1956. From that point it was parked in his garage until after his death in 2006. Johnny Singer was a favorite of President Jimmy Carter and of Prince Ferdinand of Prussia. In 1937 Johnny joined the Hal Smith orchestra at Sun Valley, Idaho, a popular resort for Hollywood celebrities. His friends there included Bing Crosby, Cary Cooper, Norma Shearer and Ernest Hemingway. He made a number of trips back to Europe to visit his friend, Prince Ferdinand, at his 400-room castle in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1980, Johnny played at a event for Presidential candidate Ronald Reagan and the next night for President Carter. After Johnny passed away the Packard was inherited by Eric. Eric is a well know musician himself. He has played drums for Alice Cooper and currently is the drummer for KISS.

We purchased it from eBay, and hope do another restoration with the institute kids. More to follow. Will likely start a separate blog for the convertible.

Raynard, Sorry for the delayed response. I had another health setback. The gas tank I have I purchased for a restoration project that I realize that I will not be able to complete. I invested $100 plus shipping from Colorado for the tank. I would like to get at least $75 plus shipping for the tank. The problem I have now requires me to use crutckes to get around. It sounds like you need the tank ASAP for your project, If you are still interested I will try to find someone to package it for shipping.
