Don't have a listing for the 9816 (1539816) but that series of numbers is generally used for late 40's & early 50's applications

Likewise no lookup for 9816; might it be 9616 which was used in the many makes of trucks that used the Hercules W307 engine, also 1949-50 Kaiser & Frazer (those models w/o the vacuum reserve tank)?

#4 somekind of taper lock, maybe for kingpins ?

The last 2 are the steering idler arm support from the Clipper-style front suspension. I suspect it's the earlier style (pre 1950?) because at some point the greaseable screw-thread joint was replaced by a simple rubber bushing. It might be original but could also be an aftermarket piece as the later rubber-bushed units didn't give the greatest service life and Moog and others did a brisk business with replacements with a greaseable joint.

As to the first picture, the senior cars also used the center link steering geometry but I can't tell if this is for a junior, a senior, or if they were different but the parts listing will tell you if they shared the same part#.

With regard to the numbers on the parts, just look them up in the master parts listing - if they are not listed they are almost certainly casting or forging numbers which are often only a few digits away from a finished part number. Often a single raw forging or casting would have been used to make multiple finished part numbers.

What a day sorting parts!

Part identifying is hard enough without part numbers, but then there are parts like this one. It has a clearly readable part number, even has the group number.

I looked multiple times in the 1948-1954 parts manual, the 55-56 book as well. No luck.

I went through the service technical bulletins, and then the service counselors, starting with 1954 and going backwards.

I guess putting theses numbers in an updated parts book was something just not high priority. The fact that the group number was listed made me think it was in a parts book some where.

Those old counter/parts guys got a work out.
