I have been using a plug-in named Topaz DeNoise version 5. It is sensational for cutting noise while retaining detail.

The presets seem to be right on (t least for me).

I know this is completely off topic...but I know some of you are PS users. Normally I wouldn't flog this kind of thing, but this particular product really works well for my situation.....

Hey, thanks for the heads-up. Paint certainly creates lots of noise. Is it a free download or must one purchase?

I'm interested, too. Can you post before/after photos? Once you have the plug in, do you get to it via a Photoshop menu bar, or do you call up a separate application???

I'll try to put something together in a day or two. It is a Photoshop plug in, To use it, it pops up at the bottom of the filters column. Clicking on it produces a screen within the screen with either presets or the ability to tweak just about every imaginable possibility.

There useful videos about it on Youtube.

Don't know if it is compatible with paintshop.

Cost is about $70, with a 15% discount for this month.

You get a free, fully functional 30 day trial.

If you try it, the presets are listed for RAW and jpeg images. Raw means images that started as eaw. They could be tiffs or possibly psds......

Google Topaz labs.....
