Troy,

Your production order should be at The Studebaker National Museum.

I don't believe I've ever seen any Packard records which recorded the actual build date; for custom coachbuilt cars the date of delivery to the customer was often recorded by Rollson, LeBaron, etc. and can be found in those archives but for production cars the best you can do is guestimate from casting dates, engine, frame, steering gear numbers, etc. And of course the patent or data plates from 1932 thru very early 22nd series cars show the delivery date to the first customer but this doesn't necessarily have any relevance to the actual build date. And IIRC the 55/56 shipping orders only show the date shipped but not the build date.

If anyone has seen actual Packard records with build dates I'd be very interested to hear about it.

We have two Third Series Sedans. Both are registered as 1925, but one is an early and one is a late....they differ with many features.
Packard did not label them as 1925 or 1926.
The early has 5 lug wheels, the late...6 lug, etc, etc, etc.
Packard was evolving at that time.
Both have different numbers on the frame vs engine...onlyone has a data plate which is also different.

All I can say is....ENJOY your car and don't get too hung up on numbers like folks with '57 Chevys.....
