Randy my brothers and I were at one of are favorite car events only bad thing about this event is it is the beginning of the end of our cruise season. The one pic is of four orphans in a row.THe weather was near perfect food was excellent as was the company we had. The Hupmobile retro rod is powered by a Viper V10 more than likely has no problem keeping up with trafic. The VW was real detailed restoration.
As Randy and I had the only Packards attending we did rather well as we both were presented with awards. One pic shaws Randy explaining the finer points of best other.

Al, thanks for sharing. More than ever these Volkswagens are a sales hit. Their dashboards are empty but their prices are skyhigh. Occupant protection? Environment protection? Engine performance? Luxury? No. Just a car. Some few days ago the production of its succesor (VW T2) has ended after 56 years. Not because of sagging interest but tightening of the law.

Although I am not a hotrod proponent I do admire the quality of work especially the paint jobs. This cruise also brings out some friends that do not attend other functions. As Al said good company, great food. Here are two examples of fine paint jobs and a pic of the award Al and I received. Note the Packard in the award.

I decided to take a chance and go to a cruise I had never attended before because I heard a friend showed up there with his 53 Convertible. I was in luck and he pulled in about 20 minutes after me. A bonus was a Studebaker I hadn't seen before. I stopped at friend Mike's right after the cruise as he lives right near there. All in all, a nice evening.

Al and I attended a cruise at Holy Angels church in memory of Father David Crowley who was a Packard lover. (He also collected old toy trains).
Several Packards showed up so Al and I were not the sole Packard people there.
The black/red was a 51 but had 52 trim and 54 headlamp doors.
The gunmetal 51 sedan is a very faithful restoration.
49, 56, 57 were in the front row calling notice that Father Crowley liked Packards

a couple of others there included this 54 and the 59 Caddy which I really like the overdone look of this white one the ford is also nice. Old cars and old friends are a good way to spend a fall Sunday afternoon.

Hi

Thanks for posting the pictures, good to see Packards showing, adding variety to local shows (we have little of that here at Western New York shows).

BTW, that Viper-engined rod is a '30 Plymouth.

Steve
