Fun at the Lube Bay

It's been so cold and I've been so busy that I haven't been able to change the oil in my car.

So with an hour to spare I went to the lube bay.

I hate letting anybody touch my car and that sentiment wasn't contradicted.

It went like this:

"Sir we had to add transmission fluid to your car"

"What?"

"Your transmission is low on fluid we need to add more"

"No way! There is nothing wrong with the transmission in this car"

"Oh yes sir, your transmission fluid is low"

"Let me see the dip stick"

At the bottom of the cross hatch.

"The transmission oil level should not be checked unless the car has been driven twenty miles. This car has been driven here from inside town. Leave the transmission alone. Don't do anything to it."

"Do you want us to check the other fluids?"

"No don't do anything except the oil change. Leave everything else alone"

Within two miles the trans oil was already into the middle of the cross hatch. Fortunately, I know how to take it back out.

I don't blame the dummies doing the work. I blame these managers who get where they are by firing everybody who knows they are a fraud.

I asked for an oil change don't mess with anything else!
They did that to me on the rearend of my pickup;

Sir we changed the oil on your rearend.

Why? I didn't ask for it.

Sir it needed it

Says who?

Sir it should be changed every 50k miles

Not in my book! I didn't need and I sure won't pay for it!
The lube chart on my pickup says every 100k miles and I'm at 49k right now.

I'm with you Tim these guys know just enough to be more dangerous than anything!

Hi BDC:

And they also think that if they behave in an intimidating manner they can do what they want. I think that is the standard model these days. They are the ones McDonalds and Wal-Mart rejected.
