I just measured the fiber board inserts and they appear to be approximately 1/2" thick.

It looks similar to regular MDF board like Home Depot sells (theirs is 0.483" thick), but others on the site may have a more exact replica that they would recommend as a solution.

Thanks for the thickness of the pads. When you have time, could you make an outline tracing or a drawing of both sides of pads? The guy who did my car was to save any thing he removed(for reference samples)but he never did.
