I'd love to see pictures of any coachbuilt 1955 or 56. I think it was too bad that Henney didn't make it that far. But would love to see if anyone managed to build one.

Courtesy of The Packard Club's article on the postwar Derhams from 1976, here's 3 photos. The 47 Clipper 4 door convertible is the near-twin to the one shown earlier in this thread, but this one is identified as the Sheik of Kuwait's car. The 22nd series Super Eight town car obviously also involved a fair bit of panel work, but the 22nd Series Custom 8 sedan appears to be no more than a slightly gussied-up standard car, perhaps with smaller oval back window? Hope you enjoy them.

Owen: In your last post in this thread the second picture you posted is also found in the Packard book by Kimes on page 539. Which I made reference to in an earlier post I made in this thread.

It also seems that a prior post I made in this thread, and the question that I asked Guscha and his answer to me, brought some new life this thread.

So in some ways you owe Guscha, West, and myself a word of thanks for bringing it back to life, even though it may have gone off course a little.

Don't forget that there's a nice scene in The Godfather with a 1954 Packard Limo, even an interior shot with Al Pacino inside.

I apologize for deviating slightly from the "postwar" theme of this post, but I came across this photo of a one-off by Darrin on a 1942 Clipper built for Errol Flynn. This photo, from an old issue of The Packard Cormorant, has had a lot of exposure over the years, but hopefully it will be new to some of you. Pretty handsome car!
