Did packard change the window regulator washers from leather to rubber?. Or did the 55 use rubber..which is better. I would think leather would slide better.

Parts lists two leather washers, one steel washer and one retainer clip per regulator for all 55-56. I would say the leather would slide better and would also better withstand having lubricant on it. I suspect someone installed a rubber washer because they couldn't find a proper leather washer or thin enough material to make one.
