The quality is in the details and in between the painting stripping of the body. There is the never ending task of glass beading and painting various accessories.

We now have the limo up on the frame machine. So that we can square up the frame and the halves of the body in preparation of constructing and installing the roof, B pillars and the floor.

Fred as been hard at work with stripping all the panels of their paint using paint stripper. After the chemical stripper was cleaned off. He then used an abrasive wheel to clean and prep the panels surfaces for body work and paint.

While temporarily installing a back door Fred found to his surprise that the replacement 51-2 2 door sedan front door he using was an inch or so shorter in height than the Dietrich stretched rear door.; Hmmm, why? Removing the paint on the original limousine front door he found evidence of lead on the rear post and investigating the innards of the post a 1" or so insert.
In order to make the top a smooth curvature while adding 20" to its length Dietrich raised it 1" at the B pillar. In the photo you will see the additional height added and a reinforcement plate in the center to better withstand the slamming of the huge doors. The original front doors have rusted out bottoms and one has a large dent, so like Dietrich we will cut the rear post behind the door window and use the extension piece from the Dietrich door. As we are re-using the Dietrich rear doors which are elongated and raised in height no modification is needed, just need to repair the huge holes in the bottom face <a href="http://s671.photobucket.com/user/JamesRFrom/media/Packard%20400/DSCN9926.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv72/JamesRFrom/Packard%20400/DSCN9926.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN9926.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s671.photobucket.com/user/JamesRFrom/media/Packard%20400/DSCN9924.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv72/JamesRFrom/Packard%20400/DSCN9924.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN9924.jpg"/></a>

Are those the same views on different doors or a mirror of the two doors? To me the shorter one also looks to have a wider vertical area next to the window.
