I have a kind of AC history related question. Does anyone know anything about the name "Modern - Aire" which is cast into the 55-6 Packard dash louvers? Is it a marketing name like Easamatic or Ultramatic or from somewhere else? If marketing, I don't believe I have ever seen the name referred to in any Packard article or sales literature and am curious when, where or if it was ever used other than on the louvers.

I've never seen it elsewhere in that period except as the name of a very popular early singing group, the Modernaires. They were a group of harmony who performed with Glenn Miller and had a very special sound as unlike rap as could be!
