Hoping someone can tell me how to remove the horn button
on my 1940 110 coupe

please specify banjo or standard steering wheel

Standard wheel

push, twist, release. Sounds easy, right?
Problem is the retainer springy clip rusts ever so slightly and frustrates your efforts to simply push, twist, release. You will be so frustrated in trying to carefully remove the beloved horn button you will want to take a ball peen hammer to it and forever disregard suggestions from helpful intending Packardinfo folks...
If you do decide to release years of restoration frustration on this seemingly simple task, go ahead, I dare you...
I will personally supply a NOS horn button, no charge, if you post a picture of the aftermath, complete with expletive deleted editorially explicit description of just how frustrating this was, and how relieving it was to grab the hammer and deal the fatal blow.
