Hey all.

Curious if there is any effective way to trace where you Packard has been, akin to a CARFAXX? Like where it came from or what states it has called home? I assume a carfaxx would be pretty useless, yes? Just curious.

(yes, assuming it does not come up on the registries here on PI or other Packard sites...)

thanks
Mike

Other than the sources you have already mentioned, the only way would be if somehow the car has some paperwork that would point you to a previous owner who is still around that might know some of the history. Except for a small scattering of factory and dealer documents that survived and are mostly held by private collectors I believe almost everything prior to 55 has been lost.

Standard VIN numbering and databases which store those numbers that places like Carfax use for their tracking came in to use long after Packard went away. Even Carfax only goes back a relatively few years because there is no easy way to access some of the early pre computer databases.
