May I suggest you review this blog:
packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... lat&order=ASC&type=&mode=0&start=0& The title is "Saving the original paintwork and runk emblem - 1951 200 barn findand". Jason75 had quite respectable results. dp

Hi
Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you here, from another '53 Clipper Deluxe owner! Since you just bought the Clipper, have you had a chance to work out any mechanical and function issues it has? My advice is to take the first year or so to correct those before tackling the body and paintwork. You can always buff and polish the current paint, touch up a few spots to make it presentable and enjoy it as is while you work through the functional problems. Much less worrisome leaning over the fender into the engine compartment when you're not worried about new paint being damaged. Too many new collector car owners go for the shiny paint first then worry about scratching it up when working out the mechanical issues. You can always paint it later when you are confident enough to jump in and drive it anyway, anytime. Good luck with your Clipper and keep us posted on your progress. BTW, is this the manual shift with overdrive Clipper that was for sale on Denver Craigslist a while ago? Steve

It's an automatic, and I grabbed it off Facebook marketplace.
It's at the mechanic as I type this having all the mechanicals looked over. :)
