If Packard kept production records by body type in the prewar era, they have not survived. Mr. Charles Blackman has published estimates of production of each body type based on highest surviving vehicle numbers. I do have copies of his work and will look this up later and advise unless someone beats me to it.
Based on the theft-proof number the body is very early 1938. PS. Blackman estimates for 16th series Super Eight coupes, based on highest known vehicle number: 1604-1117 coupe 5 pass, 47 units 1604-1118 coupe 2-4 pass, 46 units

1938 super 8, 5 passenger coupe. Fairly rare model. It still has the 1938 decal on the firewall.

Many thanks for the info. I have decided to pass on this one but if someone is interested I can put you in contact with the seller. Just PM me.
@ Owen-Dyneto, can I abuse my welcome and ask you to look up the production numbers for a Super 8 1933 1004 coupe 2/4 passenger? If my memory serves me right it is body 758. Thanks in advance Super8

Again, estimate based on highest know vehicle number, courtesy of a study by Charles Blackman.
1933 1004-658 2-4 coupe, 4 units.

Thanks again.
I have two but I suspect one is not original. A friend of mine in Canada has one and there was one at Hershey that sold 2 years ago by Dragone. This makes an amazing survival rate for 1933 Packard.

Three out of four is surely exceptional. Other than 1899 and perhaps 1900, the years with highest Packard survival rates are 1934 followed closely by 1933. Both are significantly higher in survival numbers than the next highest years.
