Here are a couple photos that were supposed to be 1951 Hennry-Packard R11 transmission. Oddly, looking up 412234 (the number cast on the main housing) in the parts book, it is the case for an earlier model which I never owned. (Well, I did own a 1948 Landaulet Nu-3-Way but it was a Custom Eight with a totally different transmission.) Apparently the reason the gears were stripped was because someone had removed the original transmission, replacing it with this!

This auction is for a Packard R11 3 speed overdrive transmission. I believe these were used from the mid 40's through the early 50's. Overall it looks in good condition turns freely and shifts into the gears OK. I acquired this from an estate with a bunch of flathead Ford parts where it had been stored inside for a long time. It has the side mounts so would be up to 1950 and sometime in 1949, R9 was replaced to R11. If indeed R11, then it's 1949-1950. Before 1949, it was R9 and before that it was R6.
