Capacitor seems to work . but I heard someone used a diode .to stop arcing. except don't know where they put it.

Only possible place is inline with coil.

I can’t see that a diode would help but a capacitor makes sense.

Gm switch in. not wired yet.

Switch shaft could be longer.. So more goes into knob.

Since kits are available. Might make a longer shaft.

With that capacitor my clock has worked since the 90s.

Back then a guy that worked in an electronic store said to add a ceramic capacitor across points.

But can't do cause they move.

There was a clock on eBay. And it was repaired with a diode. But must of sold cause can't find it.

All the clock repair sites don't say anything about them doing anything to subdue the arc.

Job security..

After cleaning my contacts. I put silicone grease on them. So far. Starts up after battery is reconnected.

Universal shaft cut to length.

Knob is tight with triangle. When it's pushed all the way in. Then add lock groove.

This shaft is to large for my nut so will have either reduce shaft. Or enlarge nut hole.

4 inches I think is just right for length.

Low and high dimer

What I don't like is shaft will pull out . at one of the end of turn.

My ford headlight switch does that also.

Still no rear reading lights...when door is open

Have it when switch is rotated to on spot.

Checked door switch. It works.


Edit update 3.11.21. Rear reading lights working.

Tan wires 23c and 56 need to be connected together.

Y connector...

Saved this from Craig's site. Going to try it.

He bought his at pep boys. 10 inch air filter kit.. 2-5/8s wide I think. Tried to copy specs ..
