Well, still not convinced there is a problem, at least for those who aren't building modified engines. Jack says he'd rather have something else....but hasn't had any problems. And availability isn't a problem. Price may be a problem to some, I believe they are about $14 a set.

(PS - clarifying - a set meaning for 1 connecting rod).

$14 EACH. Not a set. See p 9 Kanters Parts list of April 2005.

I suppose i should not have used the term "availability" by itself. I should have said "easy convenient availability". MEANING anything available off-the-shelf at a local parts store certainly has more wide spread availability than mail ordering, waiting over 2weeks for shipping, ....

I'm not a New York contract attorney so i do not write like one.

So, instead of reproducing Packard pistons perhaps it would behoove Kanter, et-al to produce custom length rods to be used in conjunction with SBC pistons. It would mean less shelf stocking headaches because there would be only one rod to stock instead of of 8 diffrent pistons. Vendors could then 'plain-white-wrapper" the SBC pistons as Packard pistons(if used with the custom rods). That's just to name 2wo adavantages for the Vwendor, a few more adavantages too..
