I lied. I now have 5 complete (well, almost) 356 engines and one block.

This one in the picture comes to pieces first to see what it'll take to make it healthy.

Wow! That is the crown jewel of the 21st Series Clippers! A 2106/2125 club sedan with that marvelous 356, long hood and fastback plus elegant, high quality interior, it has it all.

We'll all be following your progress as you get this gem restored. Good luck.

Stev

.....epigram time.....
Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

THank you, but please, don't hold your breath. I have a work assignment Back Est which is going to eat into restoration time. And location. That's the bad news.

The good news? That 356 on the trailer? I brought it east with me.

Fred should have it ready by the time you return.

Maybe, if she grows opposable thumbs.

Also, she's kind of small, really.

But I do not doubt her tenacity.

I miss Fred. I miss my rusty old cars, too. But, work is work.

So I'm shopping for some ammunition. I notice that their catchy term is "tactical." Kind of like car people's catch term of "barn find."

So, my mind being what it is, imagine an "estate tactical barn find."

Yeah, I know . . . .

Oh, and my kid made partner at the accounting firm where he works. Youngest partner in corporate history.

His mom is smart . . . .

Went on a wee road trip to score some parts, including a cloisonne hubcap, since those don't exactly grow on trees. Turns out, I was buying it and the other goodies from the man who bought the Jack Palance engine and frame. There was a thread about it on here a year or more ago. Anyway, his story is, the body's owner was making a botch of the transfer of it to the Ford platform. I concluded that it sounded like an abortion on wheels. Meanwhile, he's fascinated by the big engine and his a creative idea for building a speedster out of miscellaneous parts. I look forward to seeing his progress.

So I now have one of Jack's hubcaps and the horn bar and button. Envy me. ;)
