I added this cross-reference to the Parts Cross Reference under both "Engine" and "Accessories".
Note that in there it already had: 2A1365 UAP Napa and also: 1" wide, 53 1/4" o.d., notched or cogged design, no maker markings on belt. Buy from John Ulrich, 4184 Garden Lane, El Sobrante, CA 94803, 510-223-9587. $30 + $9 S&H.

Thanks, Jerome very much - just FYI, don't know if you saw earlier reply but Ulrich told me yesterday that due to losing his supplier he no longer carries belts for the 356ci.

Online search found Gates TR 30537 available at reasonable cost from Rockauto and probably Napa as well.
Specified as top width of 7/8" and outside circumference of 54-1/8" I checked some old original belts and found the following measurements for top width by outside circumference : Gates 85-T One at 7/8" x 54-1/8" One at 15/16" x 53-5/8" (snug fit over only crank and fan pulleys) Modac (Old NAPA brand) 25-13530 at 15/16"x 54" I also have a new Dayco 34500 that was purchased many years ago as a replacement for Packard # 395959 used on 1948-50 Custom 8 and found that it is too short and will not fit over only the crank and fan pulleys. Measured that one and found it to be 1" top width and outside circumference 51-3/8"

Thanks, BDeb! I am interested in the Dayco 34500 belt but do know that after 7 years they start to degrade no matter how well stored & if above 85 degrees, shelf life is reduced by half. Your thoughts?
I was told by Dayco rep by phone that top width is 1.06" & inside diameter (effective length) is 50" and the outside diameter is 51.1" Dayco rep told me to go to local Advanced Auto Parts to order it from manuf, Dayco. Their cost is $15.79 each + shipping of $9.99.

(cont'd) Store could not order this belt as it turned out & although I could myself on-line from Advanced Auto Part, when loading up cart it said belt was unavailable.

Thanks everybody! I wanted to post that the V-belt on my car was a Gates Truck & Bus 356T A2 & that part is now cancelled.
So after measuring the belt - it matched Gates TR30537 perfectly. It is 54 1/8" x 7/8" Top Width is .875 & the outside circumference is 54.125 - O'Reilly Auto Parts has in inventory for around $40.88 at the time of this post.
