Has anyone spoken with Scarebird Classic Brakes, LLC (www.scarebird.com) to see if they can do anything? Their website makes it sound as if they're open to new projects. Their technique seems to be to find existing parts that fit - probably through comparison of bearing sizes.

You might check out ABS Brakes new catalog, they list from 1948 -56 complete kits for around $600.00.

I think $600 is very reasonable with all new parts and all the brackets, for an "off-the-shelf" kit.
ABS is located pretty close to me also, and pretty well known. They also have a manual dual master cylinder with a frame mount bracket that might be just the trick to replace the single frame mounted master cylinder that the 51- 54 use. They even have a mini-booster version of it. It's always nice to have options! Here is the Packard section from their catalog. BTW those are part numbers, not prices. Attach file: (13.94 KB)

Have you thought of using 1983 GM Eldorado rotors in the rear of the Packard Hub? The sheet metal drums can be removed. The matching caliper works and everything fits the senior wheel.

Jerry,
Very interesting, which Packard axles/rears does that fit?

The rotor bolts on to the rear of the Packard hub. There isn't any modification to the spindle. The senior bolt circle can be used.I did not want to change the geometry of the front end. Most of the kits move the wheels out 3/8 to 15/16.
Sorry Turbopackman, I did not know this was supposed to be a secret. Jerry

Perhaps I need a picture or something to understand what you are talking about. On the '54 once you remove the rear backing plate, all you have is the tapered axle, and the mounting flange on the axle housing. Is the '56 a different setup?
