The horn button surround on my 633 could be removed by pushing it down and turning it anticlockwise, I expect the 526 would be the same.

I have not taken our 526 horn apart, but I did have our 326 horn apart and took some pics.
The bezel/plate (whatever you call it.) has 2 male notches 180 degrees apart. The base, which is attached to the steering column, has 2 female notches in the middle of a groove. You need to press the bezel to be able to slide the male notches in the groove to release the bezel. For the 326 I am able to slide clockwise or counter-clockwise; I am not sure about the 526.
