My project car was missing the front wheel bearings and the spindle nuts on all 4 wheels.
Can anybody tell me the proper size and thread pitch on the 4 spindle nuts?
I measure .85" across measuring where the treads are.

Thanks!

I didn't see anything in there that shows the spindle nuts or the spindle threads they go on.

The sizes are different between junior and senior cars. Juniors used 3/4 accoding to parts book but if you have the larger 2306 chassis which would be for the Custom I believe the nuts will be 7/8-14. I didn't see an actual nut size listed for any of the senior cars but they do mention a 7/8 washer needed with the senior rear axles.

I measure .870 across the wide part of threads on my 47 Custom which should have the same size axles and spindles as yours. You mentioned getting a measurement of .850 so according to this chart 7/8 is the likely size. Mine are 14 tpi which would be the fine thread but you might verify yours are too. You could also pick up a cheap hex nut in that size at the hardware store and verify each wheel before trying to find the proper castellated nuts. One other thing is if you use modern nuts they will typically need a smaller wrench as the original Packard nuts were wider.
