Oil is NOT recommended. Use powdered graphite. (It's messy) It's a good idea to move the weight by hand anytime the car sits for a month or more to make sure it still moves freely. It's always best to run a car for half an hour or more on the road any time it is started to get the engine fully warmed up. If you aren't going to drive the car, it's best not to start it at all, especially in cooler weather.
