I mean, I can see the terminal markings pretty clearly. The question is whether the red one goes to ground and the black to the starter. (It looks like it.) If not, just flip the battery around, colors be damned.
Fun fact, I have serviced many of the machines which make the lead grid for that battery, at the battery factory. Same place makes CAT, Mack, Harley, and some Mercedes OEM batteries. Here are some photos of a partially assembled battery. You can see the cells inside. Each has a stack of positive plates, negative plates, and insulation. Each plate is pasted with oxide first before being assembled to the stack. The ganged plate lugs are melted to the lugs already cast into the battery cover, then caps are placed over those attachment points. The battery is then filled with acid, plastic welded, pressure tested, charged, cleaned, terminals polished (yes really), and labeled. Attach file:  IMG_3362.jpg (271.47 KB) IMG_3366.jpg (337.36 KB)

Okay - battery is fully charged now. Reading 6.90 volts. Going to attempt to start with coil terminal reconnected from the distributor.

Attempted to start via key in car - just cranked. No start.
I then went under the hood with key on and remote starter connected. I verified spark on all 8 cylinders via inline spark checker.

If there is spark, and there is fuel, but it's still not starting, or at least firing a little, there must not be a strong enough spark or not enough fuel, or too much fuel. Maybe in the messing around the engine got flooded? Maybe pull a plug and see if it's wet.

How much have your pumped the fuel and cranked the engine over? I know my Cavalier takes a bit of coaxing after it's sat all winter, maybe your car just hasn't got enough fuel yet? You could give it a shot of gas directly in the carb and then see if it at least pops and sputters.

I've cranked it enough to where the battery has become sluggish twice. I haven't pumped the fuel that much. Normally the car would start with my foot off the gas but that was when it was driving.
I guess I'll try pumping the pedal a bit more since the plugs arent wet.

Carburetor is wet/sleeping fuel. I guess it's time view the manual again and pull the carburetor.
