Is there a reasonable way to DIY an alignment before I take the car to an alignment shop?
I realized last night an additional radiator problem in that the exit hose for the Ford radiator is 2", not 1¾". Therefore I need to either find a reduction hose or just use some universal hose with a reduction fitting somewhere. I'll have to look. EDIT: Here is my new radiator hose idea. The right side is the 2" and I think I can cut it in that middle section.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=670536&cc=3294844&pt=10068 It should be noted that on the 56 transmissions, a different length screw is required for the idler lever bracket (selector shaft linkage bell crank). I think it's also slightly different for Hash. I used two 1/2-20 x 1" screws with four split ring lock washers on the upper bolt, and three on the lower. This is because the lower hole on mine does not have threads as far out on the hole for whatever reason. But in general it's no problem using a 56 or Hash transmission body in this regard. I'll make a thread later of the other changes. I got the driveshaft on, transmission selector linkage in, back wheels put on, and there is not much left to do. Need to install the coil, transmission line clips, swap engine oil pan + install steering linkage, then once this radiator is figured out it's basically ready to fire up. I'll have to put the front fenders and splasher on to test drive it, but that actually doesn't take very long.
