What I've done in the past is buy one of the many reproduction sticker sets that are available for old batteries, and then replace the stickers on the new battery.

For a even better effect, I've cut the top off a dead period correct battery (do so at your own risk) and fitted it to the top of the new one. Its good enough to fool most people until they get up close.


I would not buy one of the reproduction batteries unless I was competing in a show. They're crazy expensive and don't seem to be very good.

Because they take tiny batteries, fit them in a case, and bond them to the posts. Subpar performance is expected.

What about making fake vent caps and just gluing them on? 3D printed sort of thing.
