This style used on 1937 & 1939 Senior (Super8 & Twelve) Club Sedans; 1938 changed to the striped trim for only one model year, then Packard switched back to the 1937 design for 1939 (see Parts Book for Seniors).
1) The right hand side is often broken from taking all the force from trunk (aka Boot) lid deflection when a user pushes up or down (since the left side also has the stay/closer mechanism that shares the load with the left side hinge).
2) These have the upper (small) fittings with a less-curved bottom/attachment face that fits the extended "flatter shoulder" of Senior Club sedans.
