I would really suggest you either write all the posts about your car in the same project blog with the year and model in the title or put your car in your signature. So when people read your posts they instantly know which car you are talking about.
On most cars, if you have a helper sit in the driver's seat you can ground the sensor wire to the engine block for perhaps one second and you will see the gauge needle. Jump up. If that does not happen then your gauge is bad. If it does happen then your sender is bad or you have a bad connection between the sender and the wire.
