I'm working on disc brake conversion kits for 48-56's.
i'd like an idea of how many people are interested. that way i can decide if i want to make a large run of parts, or make the kits as needed.

decision would depend on cost. In my case the way the caliper is anchored would also be a determining factor in my interest. Quite frankly, i have no complaint wityh the drum brakes on my 56 Exec.

There is some trade off here tho. A power booster/DUAL MC conversion would make the disk more desireable. If i can find a SINGLE piston MC to fit the power unit then i will stay with the drum.

look at my idea for improving the t/v here on the modified forum and see what you think. as for kit price, in the v/8 forum post "brake upgrade" the kit pictured was $1123.00 . i believe i can offer the same kit for less than $500.00 . or i will sell you just the caliper bracket, and a parts list, you can source the rest localy.

ABS power brake also has upgrade kits & seems to have increased their offerings. No idea on their price though.

they get 600 for their kit. which as i said in an earlier post i plan to beat by at least 100 bucks. more if i can. plus i plan to offer just the bracket and a parts list for the guys who want to source the rest of the parts localy. i bet they won't do that for you.
