36 120B Autolite Generator/regulator

Hi Guys;

The 120B convertible restoration is moving slow. At the point of bolting externals on the engine and chassis before moving to the body. Have just recently redone the Autolite Generator but have questions about the voltage regulator. Mine has a Delco Remy regulator on it, not doubt changed years ago. Info says it should be an Autolite. Mine is a simple single contactor coil and points set. The wiring diagram should a two contactors. Since generators are not my bag, can someone shed light on this differences. I gather the Delco Remy unit worked. My questions are about show judging and functionality? Web searches are not yielding many specifics.

Thanks in advance!

Phil

According to the 1936 AEA Original Equipment listing, two Autolite generators were used, each with a different Autolite regulator for the 1936 120. They are:

Generator type GAR, regulator should be TC-4302A
Generator type GBR, regulator should be TC-4302B

EDIT - corrected typo on #.

Thanks. So I wonder if the Delco unit is a cross over replacement? Mine has the GAR unit. 26 amps.

If the Delco unit has a part# on it, I should be able to answer your question and tell you what the applications were for it.
