To me, there's only two options:

#1, if you're going to have a show car that sees minimal road travel and sits in your garage as a piece of art to drool over, then sure, go back with the T/V.

#2, if you're going to actually USE the car and drive it regularly, then upgrade the brakes to something more dependable.

Another option would be
#3, you're so anal retentive that you can't see the forest for the trees and just like to live dangerously, while potentially putting innocent people in harm's way in the name of "restoration", then by all means use the T/V. I'd also recommend putting a small statue of Jesus on the dash, 'cause you're gonna need Him!

Yeah!. I've seen 2wo of those modern style Jesus statues like that over the last year or so. Mostly they belong to people who call themselves Jahovahs Eye Witnesses. They are the people that have WatchTowers, Kingdom Halls, and come door-to-door handing out Dillon/Hendrix pamphlets (i never read) and refuse to eat fish with scales or maybe they have to be weighed on a scale first.

Those "modern Jesus" statues are from a really good movie. It has nothing to do with the Jehovah's Witness's or anything else for that matter. Extra points for those who know where it comes from.
