I am about to take the horn button off my 733 so that I can replace the wire.
I can get the outside Bakelite collar to turn but I haven't got it to "release".
I don't want to pry on it. Can anyone tell me how to remove the horn button ?

The horn button is attached to the internal control tube assembly. The only way to get it out, as far as I know, is to go from the bottom of the steering gear. Here are some of photos of the process here and more photos of the components here.

If you just disconnect the main horn wire that comes down the center of the tubes at the multi contact circular switch at the base of the steering tube, you can remove the horn assembly. That is the only way.

Don't screw with the multi contact switch at the end too much. They are impossible to find though I do have an extra 32 one.
