Tom, I counted 97 1956 Packards and Clippers registered here. This is a about 23% of those registered with PAC. Duplications included. I wonder if the relationship is true across the years? It would be fun to find out. Good night.

John,

If you have the registration data for PAC handy, we could divide up the years and do some counting. Woohoo, do I know a good time or what!

I counted 100 56th series cars in the PackInfo database. I counted twice, too! Again, I am just a freaking ball of excitement.

Interesting, 424 cars would represent 1.5% of the 1956 production.

Tom

Tom, did your 100 PacInfo registered '56s include the Studebakers that are there? No big deal, close enough for government work.

I am using the latest (2009-2010) PAC Membership and Handbook. I would be willing to start counting Packards by series in the PAC directory, as those data are listed. Let me see what I can come up with starting from the 55th series and working back with count to include all Junior and Senior models.

Of course, if anyone else wants to be a "Counter", your efforts are welcome. Just sign-up for the series you would like to count and report. Divide and conquer.

How's that? This is just too exciting!!! The data are, the data are ...

Tom, I counted 373 55th series Packard in the PAC directory. On to the 54th series and beyond (with apologies to Pixar Studios)!

(o{I}o)

54th - 262
26th - 318
25th - 88
24th - 158
23rd - 250
22nd - 353
21st - 231

That takes care of the post war years. I'll start on the prewar series later. Now it is off to "The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors".
