Treadle Vac.. CALLING ALL CARS

I am asking again for those who have experienced sudden failure of their units to allow me to inspect thenm to see what the cause is. Thsi is the third or fourth notice I have posted and thus far only one person has contacted me.

The cause of the failure was that the experienced rebuilder put silicone sealer in a fluid return channel cuaing inevitable failure.

There has been much written about "unreliability", what I have found is that the units do fail because the brake fluid is never flushed or the level is not checked. One supposed "failure" on this site was due to a failed rear metal brake line.

Note that manual brake cars fail for the same reasons, leaks in the hoses, wheel cylinders, metal lines or the failure of the master cylinder itself for the reasons above.

For safety in any car, check your brake fluid per the owners/service manual etc. MOdern cars are relatively maintenance-free. NOt so with our "old iron"

Thanks

Prudent Advice!

Endless discussion of anecdotal evidence is far less productive than trained eyes on the problem.
