Tom (Rocky46) & Terry (traumjaegercat), perfect (Terry, I assume that 7D is a slips of the pen). To identify the 1950s from UK I would have needed an illustrated catalogue.
1) German dwarfs A - Gogomobil (my mother drove one) B - Messerschmitt (unmistakeable a former aircraft company) C - Yes, that's a BMW! D - DKW Junior - a real car. 2) Italian sweeties A - Fiat 1900 B B - Lancia Ardea (1939 - 1953) C - Alfa Romeo 1900C Super Sprint D - red hot Maserati Italy changed 1924 to right-hand traffic. Nevertheless the Lancia Ardea was a RHD. According to Wikipedia: "The third series Ardea, produced from 1948, was the first mass-produced car with a 5-speed manual transmission." 3) extinct stars A - Borward Isabella Coupe - a nice car B - NSU Prinz C - DKW Monza (an exotic car, the majority of shown cars are large-scale production) D - Glas Isar - a financial fiasco 4) behind the iron curtain A - Skoda VOS for senior political and military personnel B - FSO Syrena, a two-stroker from Poland C - Tatra 87, streamlined by Hans Ledwinka D - AWZ P70 - the predecessor of Trabant 5) 1950s in UK A - Austin Austin A30, (rear) foot- and handbrake used the same linkage B - Riley 1.5 (in Australia Austin Lancer and Morris Major) C - Morris Cowley with torsion bar springs D - MG Magnette ZA, wood & leather interior 6) across Europe A - DAF 600, equipped with belt-driven Variomatic and reverse gear unit, no problem to go 100 mph backwards B - Humber Hawk series III C - Simca Aronde, quantity: 1,400,000! D - Saab 92, the first Saab. The "de luxe" version was equipped with from outside accessible trunk! 7) Vive la France A - Citro?n Traction Avant (1934-1957), sorry for showing a prewar version B - Renault 4CV * C - Simca Com?te (a Ford Comete Monte-Carlo with Facel body) D - Peugeot 203 (12 Volt 1948) * Wikipedia: "On the 4CV's launch, it was nicknamed La motte de beurre (the lump of butter); this was due to the combination of its shape and the fact that early deliveries all used surplus paint from the German Army vehicles of Rommel's Afrika Korps, which were a sand-yellow color."

In the late 1950s there was a BMW Isetta in the neighborhood running up and down our street driven by some 16YO. That was a really cool car to our teenage minds. Not fast, but you could get in/out via the front.
Thanks for posting a European alternate to USA 1950s cars. I didn't get too many of those other than the BMW Isetta. Craig
