As I recall the feeble remnants of Studebaker were merged with Wagner Electric and Worthington about 1966 to form Studebaker-Worthington which in turn was purchased about 1980 by Mc-Graw-Edison which in turn was purchased by Cooper Industries which later, with Onan, was incorporated into Cummins Engine.

I'd bet that if you Google Studebaker-Worthington you'd find all the details.

Hi

That's pretty much how the corporations merged, a thin thread of both Packard and Studebaker still existing today. Recently, Eaton Corporation bought out Cooper Industries. I worked for the Cooper Power Systems division in the 1990's in Olean, N.Y. When a boneheaded management decision came down, I would say it was "the curse of the Studebaker management" which had come with an earlier merger!
