Wow! You found another pic taken of the same parade, but in a different location. Great investigative work! Thank you!

Thank you for the identification. I rather thought it was a Packard based solely on the wheels. I tried to enlarge hood-ornament area, but it was too pixelated.

I appreciate your informative response.
kind regards

BTW, very small detail, but indicative of the clothing styles of the time. Did you notice the two-tone wingtips the Secret Service agent on the running board is wearing?

kind regards

I just spoke to my grandmother who is 99 and lived in Dallas/Ft. Worth area during the time period. She and my late grandfather actually attended FDR's speech. She said it was incredible when FDR's car rolled into the stadium. The cheers and applause were deafening.

One thing my grandmother particularly remembered because of her close proximity to the platform was seeking FDR assisted out of the back of the car by Elliot and Secret Service agent. FDR had to get stabilized and then assisted to the podium. She went on to say that many people didn't even know that FDR was incapacitated because they had only seen him in news reels which were carefully edited to show him as being fully functionally.

Thank you so much for that article. My grandmother loved talking about the event.

kind regards
