This sounds like a nice build. I have a friend who did something real similar with a 1941 Buick. Has a LS motor in it and a Chevy sedan rear end. The interior is pretty bare bones. Has hand painted decals on the side and some gimmicks.

The nice thing is if you have a car this far gone, so one will complain about having a modern setup in it. And a newer motor and such is very easy to maintain, parts are cheap, etc. And the body already looks how it does. So people will often rack up tons of miles on these sorts of builds with far less worries when it comes to dependability, wear, or accidental damage.
