Great tie-in with girlfriends. One nice thing about cars was that they didn't come with a mother-in-law.

"Jaguar/Land Rover and Volvo are not for sale, Ford is committed to Mercury and the F-150 and Super Duty (F-250/350/450) are the same truck (never mind that they share few parts beyond the powertrain) and therefore we lump all sales together." Okay Ford, whatever you say.

Would only add to what you guys said about cars becoming a commodity is that today's corporation has no sense of adventure either. The people who run them are boring commodities and the lower level folks get treated like commodities. I sincerely hope the passing of Steve Jobs doesn't represent the final extinction of a once thriving breed in this country.
