The paint suppliers of the time centered around new York City and Philadelphia.

A main supplier was Valentine & Company located at 456th 4th Avenue in New york City. They sold their paint under the trade name of Nitro-Valspar. Another supplier in New York City was Egyptian Lacquer Manufacturing Company located at 90 West Street. T.J. Ronan Company located in Brooklyn sold paint under the trademark Roncolac.

The eastern branch of the Dupont paint company was located in Parlin New Jersey.
