Here is an update on my car, I re-installed the repaired transmission cooler and radiator. So far, it looks good, no leaks and the car runs well. I am just letting it run in the garage, it has no brakes right now and it is cold in NH. We even have a little snow on the ground so it will be in the garage until spring. I removed the carpet and my next project will be getting the master out and having it rebuilt. I do have one question, one of the windows doesn't work from the door, I removed the door panel and the block that pushes on the switch is falling apart. What do people suggest to replace this part. I thought I might look for some push on connectors and splice them into the current wires? There isn't much extra wire in the door, it makes it difficult to work on it. Any suggestions? thanks, Dave

You might see if packards1 still has any of the blocks. He had one on his ebay store some time back. Cadillacs and some GM cars of the era used the same type switch so perhaps one of their vendors has something. You also need to rule out the switch as being bad. There is a piece inside carrying the contact buttons which have minimal contact area to complete the circuit. The current arc burns the contact button flush with the support plastic and when that happens the switch fails. If window fails to move in only one direction that is a fairly common problem with those switches.
The wire and rubber conduit is clamped inside the door just a few inches after it enters. You might be able to remove the clamp and gain a few inches of working room while you do the repairs. On your orignal, am assuming you mean the phenolic back has bent or separated from the black plastic so the wires and terminals are coming out?? If so and no luck finding a new assy, If the black part is OK, I was able to repair mine by CAREFULLY drilling small holes where the original rivets or retainer for the phenolic was located. There is not much room for error so careful is the word. Removed and made a new phenolic piece and tightened the original terminals. I countersunk the switch side of the block for a flat head screw to replace the rivet and attached the new phenolic with a 2-56 flathead screw, washer and nut. Used a bit of sealant over the screw to insulate and keep it from loosening.

I finally have the master off and will be sending it to Ed Strain in Fla. I have new wheel cylinders and should replace all the hoses and brake lines. I don't look forward to replacing the lines but know I should, then at least I will be able to stop without worrying about popping a line. Very cold here in New England, I will take a careful look later this week and get started on the lines, I think once I start it will go fairly well. I am getting too old to look forward to getting under and working on my back, but will be glad I did when I am driving in the spring.

Cold weather can slow things down alot. But a good remedy is to just fill up a couple of 2 gallon coal buckets and place them near the area in the shop where or car where u're working. Electric heater can help too. Just need to place them in the immediate area of the shop where u're working.
Of course that can be a problem for some people who have no access to any embers so it's a couple of electric heaters to use then.

Hi Dave and congratulations on your choice of cars! Of coursed I'm a little prejudiced.
The support here is fantastic and I'm confident in saying that any problem that may arise from your Patrician can and will be answered here. Beautiful car, by the way.
