I know this is not related to Packard but thought some of you would like to see what I forgot I had laying around.

O wait I did find a Matchbox of a 1930 Packard Victoria but I didn't take a picture of it.

Also have an old wind-up USA Army CAR/TANK.

Tom, two and a half year later I have an attic window installed and found again comparable utensils. According to its inscription my great grandfather got the silver prize cup as winner of the second prize of a so-called reliability race in the mid 1920s and the old wind-up tin toy is from the early twenties. It is 18 inches long, even the driver is made of tin, the jump seats are two times foldable just like the originals and is is equipped with nice details like electric light and trafficators to open boy's hearts.

Does anybody know the function of the hand crank (see lower left corner at pic #2 above and pic #3 below)?
I just found out that the toy car even has license plate lighting and electric stop light - at the beginning of the twenties not self-evident.

Not bad. But then there must be a missing link between the wind-up motor and the crank.
The winding arbor is visible at pic #5 below (marked by a red arrow).

Things never seldom turn out the way you expect. The crank starts the light show. After 90 years the car is back on the road.

The trafficators have a connection to the front axle and work simultaneous with the direction of running. The connecting wires are intentionally orange to exemplify the relation in an intelligible manner to young boys.

The new engine was made by a Swiss watch manufacturer. Even the "ignition key" has been reconstructed according to old blueprints.
