How can I disassemble the Trunk Lamp from a '50 Packard without damaging the unit? I have tried to pull the sleeve off the back so I can replace the wiring, but it seems to be frozen.

I seem to recall the lamp is a two part affair that are simply press fit together so perhaps a good soaking with PB Blaster et al for a day or so will loosen the two parts for you. Good luck.
