Metering Rod Spring?

Hello!

Had an awesome Saturday, finally got to do some light driving, first time! There was no wiping the smile from my face. She did great.

Turned her off, started, and drove her a few times throughout the afternoon without issue. Parked her for the night came out in the morning for some more cruising and have a flooding issue - gas pouring from overflow on carb, guessing a stuck float or some related issue with the needle. I did some cleaning, tapping, flushing to hope break whatever loose without luck.

Today, as I attempted to pull the float bowl cover off to dig deeper I noticed the metering rod spring is off. And I cannot figure out, after a ton of research where it connects back to? any thoughts?

I will continue to pull the cover completely off and look into the flooding issue, but wanted some guidance on where this belongs. Will likely do a rebuild.

Thank you!

Found the answer while scouring the interwebs. The spring connects underneath to the metering rods.
