I think it could work if there were a roller arrangement on the floor parts, captive in the suspended parts and had the proper geometry. My question would be the amount of travel of the floor piece & how much that could be reduced and still have complete travel in master cylinder without sacrificing the 4:1 advantage. As I recall standard brakes have a normal stroke length (unless it goes all the way down) of at least twice the power brakes.
