Mike, if it makes you more comfortable you might want to just start a project blog post like "MikeSC's 55 Panama" in the project blogs section here, then just link this post in your first post there.

Regarding charging, you can just disconnect the wires from the generator and not have to worry about the charging system until the time comes. The regulator cutout relay will prevent shorts from the disconnected generator wires. Just charge the battery with a battery charger between uses.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.
