WHY HAVE a BTV requireing a $300 rebuild every 10 years when a more modern conventional power unit will run 20-40 years for about $150 ????

That's a question I've been pondering since these two similar threads started, but I figured it's no good to try and talk sense into a brick wall.

"I can't help but wonder about the layout of the BTV in the cars that don't have many issues. Do they all sit with the fairly steep angle as the Packard does"

Another point to consider is how HIGH does the BTV of NON-Packard application set relative to the wheel cylinders???

I believe Cadillac had a BTV that sat real low too.

A '55 Chevy is up on the firewall like most modern vehicles.

GreenDragon:

Thank u for the offer.

But SUDDENLY over the last 24 hours or so i've changed my mind about setting one up for a test buck. Just hang on to the master cylinders for a while. I'll probably decide to cut one up at a later date. For the time being, i'll pass on the offer.
Many thanks. -Keith

Those intent on doing a conversion would not be interested in any BTV analysis.

Those that are happy with the BTV are already happy.

THose who are not happy with BTV and do not want to convert probably don't drive enuf miles to even need any brakes that work.

So, I suddenly asked myself: "what is there to study about the BTV????"

It's like haveing 3hree young whores living in the same house.
One wants whisky, another wants beer and the 3rd one is already falling down drunk while i'm still thirsty.
