My experience is that most (not all) women prefer driving smaller nimble cars like British/Italian/Miata/Mustang/Camaro roadsters, 'verts and the like. They handle and perform better than our big tanks and are less intimidating to drive. They don't tend to cotton so much to "boats", and since less folks in general these days are experienced with manual shift, automatic tends to be preferred as well. Given the right kind of car, many women can and do become enthusiasts, but only a minority of those will appreciate the big old cars that some of us grew up with and loved in the 40s to 60s.

That's probably true (ladies liking the small cars). My wife would trade any of the Packards for a '55-'57 "baby bird." And I thought her dad had instilled more common sense into her than to admire a FORD! When a fellow VMCCA club member got HIS wife a '57 T-Bird for her birthday, I knew I was in big trouble. Now its all I hear....

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
